One Mile Dam - Urban (Darwin) Aboriginal Community

No 'remote area' excuse, for the neglect and discrimination this Aboriginal community has experienced in Darwin for decades

Prior to the 2005 election the Kumbutjil Association received a promise of new housing from NT Labor

Now in 2008, the NT Labor Government is planning to move Aboriginal people out of the area, which is currently filling with 'Luxury Development' complexes

Another White Christmas in Australia 2007

The overwhelming rejection of the Federal intervention into NT Aboriginal communities by Aboriginal people

"...which gave Labor returns of up to 95% in polling booths in some remote Northern Territory communities, including the community of Wadeye, regularly visited by Mal Brough."

does not seem to have had much impact on the Rudd Labor government Aboriginal people helped into power

This is a recent Rudd Labor government "iniative"

No consultation - just a large sign planted at the entrance of Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory

This sign is errected at One Mile Dam Aboriginal community - the residents consider it insulting and racist

It certainly serves no other purpose

Christmas

A request for a Santa at Parap markets provoked my community spirit and sentimentality - as my reply demonstrates...

"OK - but I'm only doing it for the money

Xmas sucks

will adopt fake jolly Xmas persona for task"

It was HOT!

HOT Santa

...but a female Santa's helper, a loud annoying bell, HO! HO! HO!'s (that sounded like "Bring out your dead" as heat-exhaustion increased) and a discreet Land Rights badge - made it an interesting experience
