The Fretilin party wants Brigadier James Baker to explain why his forces have failed to capture the rebel soldiers blamed for last month's attack on Dr Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao. Fretilin has called on him to appear before the Parliament in Dili, to answer questions about how international soldiers responded when Dr Ramos-Horta was shot outside his home. Specifically, it wants to know whether international troops actively blocked the passage of an ambulance as Dr Ramos-Horta lay gravely wounded on the ground and whether, or why, there were delays in administering urgent medical treatment. An Australian Defence spokesman in Dili was unavailable for comment. Quote this article on your site | Views: 164 | Print | E-mail
