TIM BALDWIN
CLP
MINISTER FOR PERSECUTING PARIAH

PARIAH members faced eviction from their home of seven years on the Cox Peninsula because of a Trespass Notice issued by the Dept. of Lands Planning and Environment (DLPE) on 3 December 1998. This followed an earlier attempt in October 1998 by the (Federal) Australian Communications Authority to remove us.

Why? Because PARIAH had complained of racism at local social venues (Mandorah Hotel and Kox Kountry Klub) and were pursuing justice in the Anti-Discrimination Commission against local whites.

The DLPE has plans - since 1990 - to develop the Cox Peninsula, despite the area being under claim (white law) by local Aboriginal people. This ‘intellectual trespass’ is typical of the intimidation and hypocrisy practised by the racist Country Liberal Party.

Tim Baldwin is the responsible Minister
for the DLPE.

We defeated these attempts to remove us (3 June 1999) with the help of traditional owners who ‘formalized’ our presence on the Cox Peninsula. Documentation now describes PARIAH’s Co-ordinator as "family and a member of the Belyuen Aboriginal Community."

On 15 June 1999, the local Bushfire brigade attempted to remove PARIAH’s Co-ordinator who was Deputy Captain and Public Officer.

When this failed another 'successful' attempt was made on 6 July 1999. The Bush Fire Council and Dept. of Industry and Business refused to acknowledge letters from a Deputy Captain and Government gazetted Public Officer requesting reasons for his expulsion. Section 20 Bushfires Regulations.

The Klandorah poster below expressed our disgust
with this political victimisation.

Tim Baldwin is also the responsible Minister for the NT Liquor Commission and does not want the truth about the racist Mandorah Hotel publicized.

How's that working out Tim?
